Quick answers

How do I change the language?

On the start screen tap the 🌐 button at the top right, or open Settings in the grown-up area. The words on the board are translated; words you changed yourself stay as you wrote them.

How do I open the grown-up area?

Press and hold the lock icon in the top right for two seconds. If you set a passcode, enter it, or use Face ID.

I do not hear the word spoken.

Turn the volume up. The app speaks even when the silent switch is on. In Settings, check that the speaking language matches the words on the board.

Recording says the microphone is off.

Open the iPhone Settings app, tap BloomTalk, and turn Microphone on. Practice still works without recording.

How do I move to a new phone?

In the grown-up area, open Backup and share, save the backup file to Files or iCloud Drive, then restore it on the new phone.

How do I add my own picture or voice?

In the grown-up area, open Edit buttons, tap a button, and choose a photo or record your voice. You can also add new words there.

Found a translation that is wrong?

The Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Hindi word lists are first drafts. If you speak the language, we would be grateful for corrections.
