Privacy policy
Effective November 1, 2026. Developer: BloomTalk. Contact: support@bloomtalk.app.
What the app stores on your device
- Buttons, words and folders you create or edit
- Photos you choose or take for buttons, schedules and stories
- Voice recordings you make for buttons, and short videos you add to words
- Short practice recordings made during Sound practice. They play back once so a child can hear themselves, stay only in the phone’s temporary storage, and are never saved in the app, backed up, shared or sent anywhere
- Schedules, stories, goals and notes
- Simple usage counts (which buttons were tapped, which sounds were practiced and how they were rated) used only to show summaries to you. You can turn this off in Settings or clear it at any time
- A salted hash of your grown-up passcode, if you set one
What we collect
Nothing. Version 1.0 of the app has no accounts, and we do not receive any of the information above.
Accounts (planned for a later version)
Version 1.0 does not have accounts. This section describes what will apply if we add them in a later version, and we will update this policy before we do. An account will let you reset a forgotten password and keep your plan on a new phone. We then hold: your email address, your name, your child’s first name and an age group (the last two are optional), a scrambled form of your password (never the password itself), and short-lived password reset codes. We use this only to run your account and to email you a reset link when you ask for one. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to track you.
We never receive your child’s words, buttons, photos, recordings, videos, practice results or feelings check-ins. Those stay on your device.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page on this website or in the app (Parent area, then Account and plan). Deleting removes the details above. You can also email us and we will delete it.
Plans and payments
The talk board is free. Optional plans unlock more of the app. Payments are handled by the App Store or Google Play, and we do not see or store your card details. To know whether a plan is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that checks purchases for us. It receives a random ID that the app creates on your device and the store receipt, not your name or email. We cannot cancel a subscription for you: do that in the App Store or Google Play.
Third parties
The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking tools.
Sharing
Data leaves your device only when you choose: for example when you share a backup file, a summary or exported boards with the iOS share sheet. You decide where it goes. Backup and shared files are not encrypted.
Permissions
- Camera and photos: to add your own pictures, and to show a live mirror in Sound practice so a child can watch their mouth. The mirror is a live preview only; nothing is recorded, saved or sent. Used only when you tap to add a picture or turn the mirror on.
- Microphone: to record your voice for a button, or to let a child hear themselves during Sound practice. Used only while recording. The app does not listen in the background and does not analyse what is said.
- Face ID: optional, to open the grown-up area. The app never sees biometric data.
Children
The app is designed for children to use together with a parent or caregiver. Because we collect no personal information, there is nothing to share, sell or disclose about children.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. The sound and language demos on the home page speak using your own browser’s voice and send nothing to us.
Not medical advice
The app supports communication and practice. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition.
Your choices
Delete the app to delete all of its data. Backups you made stay wherever you saved them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top and the text in the app.
